What's inside
01
Deductions tracked from invoice to challan
TDS, TCS & MSME
TDS is deducted right on the vendor invoice, at the section and rate that party attracts, and the TDS summary keeps a running view of what's been deducted and what's due. When it's time to pay, deposit the challan and prepare Form 26Q and 24Q from the same entries.
TCS collected on sales is tracked through to its deposit, and the MSME dues report shows what you owe each MSME vendor within and beyond their agreed payment period, ready for the MSMED Act disclosure. Income-tax depreciation runs alongside book depreciation, so the tax computation isn't a separate spreadsheet.
02
The whole group at a glance
Finance insights
Receivables, payables, cash and net income update live across every legal entity in the organisation. The Finance KPIs workspace and the customisable dashboard read the same posted vouchers your accountants work in, so what management sees is what the books say.
Switch to the all-entities view for the group position, or drill from a KPI to the customers, invoices and vouchers behind it. Comparative trends show the monthly P&L and balance sheet movement without a single spreadsheet export.

03
Statements from one ledger
Reports & Schedule III
Trial balance, profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and Schedule III statements are all read from one double-entry ledger, for any period and any entity. Because every module posts through the same service, your financial statements all read the same numbers.
The MIS ratio pack computes liquidity, profitability, efficiency and leverage ratios with their formulas shown. Audit work papers and subledger-to-GL reconciliations are prepared inside the product, ready for your auditors.
04
Your bank, inside your books
H2H bank payments
Vendor payments initiate over host-to-host bank connections without leaving OwnBooks. An approval hierarchy, per-connection controls, OTP verification where the bank asks for it and beneficiary registration where the bank requires it stand between a draft and the money moving.
Pay one payee or a batch of dozens, track statuses live, and let the disbursement voucher post itself on success. The bank statement then reconciles against the same records, closing the loop from approval to audit trail.
05
Books that watch themselves
Journal risk & controls
Every journal batch is scored 0–100 on control and anomaly factors — back-dated or weekend entries, large or round amounts, postings to control accounts, missing narration and segregation-of-duties gaps — so review effort focuses where it matters.
Approval rules, and maker–checker on vendor invoices, gate documents before they post, and the activity log records who did what, when. Filter journals by High, Medium or Low band, read why each was flagged, and export the list for your work papers.
